ABOUT THE CJGA SCHEDULE

The Canadian Junior Golf Association conducts over 100 tournaments across Canada for junior golfers aged 5-24. Because of the size and scope of the schedule, selecting what events to play can often be a daunting task for the nation’s junior golfers. The following will provide you with an overview of how to navigate the CJGA schedule and plan a schedule that best fits your needs.

Remember, CJGA staff members are here to help. The CJGA is able to assist you in planning your schedule and can be reached by telephone 1-800-598-CJGA (2542) or 647-812-8522 or email at info@cjga.com

General Tournament
A General Tournament is considered to be an open event. Fields are filled on a first come, first serve basis and is open to the all CJGA members and non-members.

Non-members must pay a non-member fee. If junior players play more than two events, they must become a full member. Non-member fees previously charged will be deducted from the membership cost. Registration is available through the online registration system or through a tournament application.

General Tournament Codes: In order to distinguish between tournaments and the number of events in each province, the CJGA uses codes to separate events into categories, for example:

  • A1 = Alberta Junior/Amateur Tour
  • AL1 = Alberta Linkster Tour
  • AT1 = Atlantic Canada Junior/Amateur Tour
  • ATL1 = Atlantic Canada Linkster Tour
  • B1 = British Columbia Junior/Amateur Tour
  • BL1 = British Columbia Linkster Tour
  • O1 = Ontario Junior/Amateur Tour
  • OL1 = Ontario Linkster Tour
  • Q1 = Quebec Junior/Amateur Tour
  • QL1 = Quebec Linkster Tour
  • M1 – Manitoba Junior/Amateur Tour
  • ML1 – Manitoba Linkster Tour
  • S1 = Saskatchewan Junior/Amateur Tour
  • SL1 = Saskatchewan Linkster Tour

International/National Qualifying
During the early months of the season, the CJGA conducts a number of international qualifying tournaments across Canada. Each international event has specific qualifying requirements.

Please visit the International Events Section in the Drop Down menu at the top of the cjga.com for detailed description of each event.

Championship Events
The CJGA conducts several championship events on its national schedule in Canada.

These events require performance based entry (finishes in previous events over 3 years) in order to secure a spot. All participants should fill out the resume section on the Championship webpage of the event that you would like to entire. Once your resume is complete you will be directed to the Registration page.

Championship Event Codes: In order to distinguish between championship events, the CJGA uses codes to separate events into categories, for example:

CMP = PING Canadian Junior Match Play Championship

CSP = Mizuno National Junior Golf Championship

TAY = TaylorMade Canadian Invitational

POL = Polair Golf Canadian Championship

What happens when registering for Championship Events

The CJGA accepts all juniors registering. All juniors are put on a waiting list at first. The waiting list juniors are then released into the Championship Event based on their resume (performance based entry). The field is then filled with the remaining spots available up to the maximum that is allowed into the event.
