Volunteering with the CJGA

As a volunteer, you play a crucial role in developing our youth both in life and in the incredible game of golf. By volunteering with the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA), you help us achieve our mission of providing inclusive programs for all young people, regardless of economic or other disadvantages. Your support is vital in expanding CJGA programs that build character, foster a competitive spirit, and develop essential skills in our youth.

HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEER PROGRAM:

The CJGA is offering high school students a chance to complete their 40 mandatory community involvement hours through engaging and meaningful volunteer work. Through their involvement, students will build essential skills in leadership, communication, event coordination, and teamwork while supporting programs for children and youth aged 6–18.

HELPING WITH TOURNAMENTS:

  • Monitoring the pace of play during events.
  • Assisting with marshalling.
  • Assisting with scoring after an event.
  • Obtaining/organizing prizes/giveaways for CJGA events and tournaments.
  • Taking photos and videos of an event.
  • Announcing/emceeing at an event.

HELPING WITH FUNDRAISING:

  • Approach local corporations, businesses, or friends to donate or sponsor the Canadian Junior Golf Association.
  • Assist in raising funds through donations to help reduce costs, allowing more youth to experience the game of golf.
  • Help secure donations of prizes for events.
  • Reach out to your local golf club to host an event, increasing awareness of the Canadian Junior Golf Association.
  • Help obtain junior member lists from your club to inform them about CJGA opportunities.
