Bath, ON (October 17, 2014) – The Great Waterway Classic, an official PGA TOUR Canada event, will return to Loyalist Golf & Country Club in Bath, Ontario in 2015. Having hosted the event for the first time in the event’s three-year history last season, Loyalist will see the event take place August 24-30.
Loyalist, a beautiful Ted Baker design, offers one of the best-conditioned golf courses in The Great Waterway region. The 6,779 yards of native grasses, strategic bunkering and colourful natural watercourse creates a challenging course for beginners and skilled players alike.
The Great Waterway region boasts over 60 golf courses and is laced together by the sparkling St. Lawrence River, Rideau Canal, Bay of Quinte and Lake Ontario. The region serves up all the ingredients of a perfect golf getaway and on its shores you’ll find fascinating history, quaint villages, inspiring art, live theatre and gastronomic delights at every turn. Harpers Ferry, West Virginia native David Bradshaw captured the 2014 event with a birdie on the 72nd hole, good for a one-stroke victory over Argentinian Tommy Cocha and fellow American Adam Long.
The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) will once again be the host organization conducting the event, which will see players deep in the race for Web.com Tour status that will be handed out at the end of the season.
