-Twelve Total CJGA alumni will tee it up in Canada’s National Championship-

Richmond Hill, ON (July 26, 2017) Bath, ON native Austin James is set to make his PGA TOUR debut this week after receiving an exemption into the RBC Canadian Open.   The event gets underway tomorrow thru Sunday at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario.

“The CJGA gave me an opportunity to grow as a junior golfer and gave me an amazing level of competition for me to learn as a tournament golfer” said an elated James from Glen Abbey. “Some of my fondest memories of junior golf were at CJGA events and it helped me get to where I am today.”

As a CJGA member, James captured four junior titles and posted over a dozen top 10’s. He capped a solid 2013 season capturing both the CJGA Eastern Canadian Junior Championship and the CJGA Quebec Junior Open. In 2014 he captured the Canadian Junior Boys Championship before being awarded a sponsor exemption by the CJGA into The Great Waterway Classic, a Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada event on his home course, Loyalist Golf and Country Club.

“It is exciting to see Austin have the opportunity to tee it up with the best players in the world on home soil” said Brad Parkins, COO of the CJGA. “Austin is a fantastic young player and this opportunity will be great for his development. We are excited to see so many of our alumni in the field this year and will be cheering for all the Canadians.”
