Richmond Hill, ON (July 25, 2015) – On Monday, the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) begins its championship season for the second year in a row at Lakeridge Links Golf Club. Monday marks the first round of the 2015 CJGA PING Canadian Junior Match Play Championship. “Lakeridge Links Golf Club and The Geared to Golf Performance Center are excited to be affiliated with the CJGA PING Canadian Junior Match Play Championship. In its 10th season at the golf club and with a strong relationship with PING Canada, this is the perfect fit to assist with the growth of junior golf!”, said Ryan Starr, the Director of Golf at Lakeridge Links.

Its exceptional design features 18 championship holes spanning 6900 yards on 160 acres of natural rolling terrain. Since opening in 1989, Lakeridge Links has continued to build its reputation around its diverse mix of challenging holes and universal appeal.
The PING Canadian Junior Match Play Championship is considered one of the top match play events in Canada. Day one and two consist of a stroke play competition to determine the seeding for match play. The top 16 players in both Boys divisions will advance to match play, while the top 8 players in both Girls divisions will advance to match play. Day three and four have players competing in both morning and afternoon matches.

About the CJGA PING Canadian Junior Match Play Championship
In 2001 the PING Canadian Junior Match Play Championship was incorporated into the CJGA tournament schedule to provide junior golfers with outstanding skills an opportunity to compete in a match play format. Juniors gain a valuable experience due to the tournaments’ strength of field and have a chance to evaluate their skills against some of the nation’s best junior golfers. This tournament is the only national junior match play event in Canada.
