Uxbridge, ON (July 19th, 2015) This past Friday the CJGA Linkster ClubLink Series made a stop at Wyndance Golf Club in Uxbridge, ON. While the CJGA Linkster’s fought to overcome the fast greens on the down under course, they also battled the constant rain. While the conditions were not ideal, the competitors put forth a valiant effort.
Girls 9 & Under
Winning the Girls 9 & Under division with a one-stroke lead was nine-year-old Yerin Lee. Yerin finished strong with two consecutive birdies and a final score of 37 (+3). This was Yerin’s first win of the season, and 6th top five finish.
Only one stroke behind was Reese Ng from Maple, ON with a final score of 38 (+4).
Boys 8 & Under
With an outstanding final score of 36 (+2), Aidan Talent from Brooklin, ON captured first place. Showing just how talented he is, he started off the tournament with an ace on the first hole.
Not far behind was Jager Pain of Richmond Hill, ON. Jager finished with a final score of 38(+4) and met par for over half of the course.
One stroke behind Jager was Cheho An of North York, ON. With a final score of 39(+5), Cheho remained a stable player throughout.
Boys 9-10
With a three-way playoff for first in the Boys 9-10 division, David Jr. Subotic of Vaughn, ON came out on top. Subotic finished with a final score of 36 (+9).
Tied for second and falling short in the playoff was Brett Cameron Ng of Maple, ON and Jaden Chan of Markham, ON with final scores of 36 (+9).
Girls 10-13
Capturing the Girls 10-13 division was Claire Hwang of Maple, ON. With a final score of 30 (+3) Claire seized her first win of the season. Thirteen-year-old Claire remained calm throughout and started off strong with a birdie on the first hole.
Two strokes behind Hwang was Nyah Kelly of Bobcaygeon, ON with a final score of 32 (+5).
Taking third place for the division was Elaine Giantsopoulos of Richmond Hill, ON with a final score of 34 (+7).
Boys 11-13
Finishing first for the Boys 11-13 division was Ethan Cardwell of Courtice, ON. With a final score of 29(+2) Ethan won by one stroke and claimed his first win of the season.
Close behind, Will Bellamy of Perth, ON finished with a final score of 30(+3). Almost always meeting par, Will had his best finish of the season.
Two strokes’ behind Will was Ryan Hogan of Burlington, ON who finished with a final score of 32(+5).
Next up, the CJGA Linkster ClubLink Series will be headed to Rattlesnake Point Golf Club for another 9-hole tournament happening on Tuesday, August 4th.
