Richmond Hill, ON (June 15, 2015) – This past weekend the Club de Golf Islesmere played host to both the CJGA Junior Tour and Linkster Tour. The weather was spectacular and the golf course was in pristine condition, making it ideal for players to shoot low scores. Spectators were treated to great golf, as players in all divisions did not disappoint. William Duquette, Charles St-Germain, Mathilde Denicourt, and Annie Lacombe were all victorious in the Junior Tour event. Malik Dao, Estraid Poudy, William Dallaire, Yasmine Daoud, and Carlee Meilleur were the divisional winners in the CJGA Linkster event.

Boys 15-19

In the Boys 15-19 division, Charles St-Germain of St-Hyacinte, QC was able to overcome a first round 78 (+6) with a second round 73 (+1), for a total of 151 (+7) to claim a three-stroke victory. “All aspects of my game were dialed in today, and that let me shoot my lowest ever competition score,” said an ecstatic St-Germain. Rounding out the top three were Jeremy Renaud of Lasalle, QC with a total of 154 (+10) and Antoine Beaupre-Vachon of Montreal, QC with a total of 156 (+12).

Boys 14 & Under

Following two consecutive runner-up finishes in CJGA tournaments, William Duquette of Laval, QC was finally victorious at the CJGA Junior at Islesmere. Following a first round score of 72 (E), Duquette finished the tournament with a total of 142 (-2), and was the only player in the tournament under par. “My game plan on Sunday was to beat the course and I think I achieved that,” said Duquette when asked about his victory. This was William’s first ever CJGA win

Girls 15-19

Annie Lacombe of Laval, QC continued her hot play on the CJGA Junior Tour with her second straight victory. Lacombe opened the first round with a score of 79 (+7) to grab the lead and never looked back. She followed up in the second round with another 79 (+7) to finish with a tournament total of 158 (+14). In three CJGA Junior Tour events, Lacombe has not finished outside of the top two.

Girls 14 & Under

The lone player in the Girls 14 & Under division was Mathilde Denicourt. She finished the tournament with a total of 171 (+27).

Boys 11 – 13

Malik Dao of Notre-Dame Ile Perrot, QC was able to come away first place on the day by shooting a 75 (+3) against some strong competition. Thomas Stafford (Beaconsfield, QC) was close behind Dao with a round of 80 (+8) to take second place. Vasily Konachenkov (Montreal, QC) rounded out the group by claiming third place with a round of 85 (+13).

Girls 10 – 13

As the lone golfer in her division, Yasmine Daoud of Pierrefonds, QC was able to shoot a solid round of 86 (+14).

Boys 9 – 10

William Dallaire (Levis, QC) led the way in his division with a score of 92 to claim first place in his only tournament so far this season. Second place came down to a one-stroke difference between Elliot Edmond (Lorraine, QC) and Gurpreet Minhas (Pierrefonds, QC). Edmond was able to shoot a round of 108 to overtake Minhas, who shot a round of 109.

Girls 9 & Under

Carlee Meilleur of Lansdowne, ON shot a round of 52 (+15) as the lone golfer in the Girls 9 & Under division.

Boys 8 & Under 

In a division full of young talent, Estraid Poudy (Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC) claimed first place by shooting a round of 42 (+5). Following close behind was Charles-Edmond Proulx of Longueuil, QC shooting a round of 45 (+8). Ekveer Minhas (Pierrefonds, QC) shot a 47 (+10) that was good enough to take the third place spot.
