CJGA Humber College PGM Western Canadian Championship at Mayfair Lakes Recap

Richmond, BC (March 29th, 2023) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) conducted the first of five Tier-1 Major Championships we have on our 2023 season schedule last week at beautiful Mayfair Lakes Golf and Country Club in Richmond, British Columbia.

The CJGA Humber College PGM Western Canadian Championship has been a staple on the CJGA’s season calendar for over eight years now, and 2023 brought new and previous champions into the spotlight throughout three days of fierce competition.

Divisional Winners

Junior Girls Division (U19)

Winning the 2021 CJGA Humber College PGM Western Canadian Championship, Team Canada Member Michelle Liu returned in 2023 to not only capture the Junior Girls Division win, but also lowest total score of the tournament honours.

Junior Boys Division (U19)

There was no looking back for Joshua Ince after shooting an incredible second round 68 (-3). Following it up with a one-under par 70 in the final round, he goes on to win the Junior Boys Division by eight strokes.

Bantam Girls Division (U15)

After winning the CJGA BC Season Opener at University, Charlotte Tam wins her second event in as many starts, capturing the Bantam Girls Division.

  • TOT: 228 (+12)

Bantam Boys Division (U15)

With a runner-up finish at the CJGA BC Season Opener at University, Vincent Guo wins the Bantam Boys Division in his second start of the year.

Top Story

With just four events down in our 2023 season, we now have two hole-in-ones tallied, both coming on the CJGA Junior Tour. During the opening round of play the Humber College PGM Western Canadian Championship, Elaine Liu scored an ace on the Par 3 12th hole at Mayfair Lakes from 120 yards out. Liu would go on to finish in solo fourth place in the Junior Girls Division, shooting a three-day total score of 218 (+5).
