The second CJGA Winter Leagues weekend is in the books! As snow came down outside in Acton, Ontario this weekend, players engaged in heavy competition inside at both the Junior and Linkster Tour Polair Golf Winter League Canada Goose Classic Presented by BirTee Golf.

The Polair Golf Winter League Canada Goose Classic Presented by BirTee Golf was held virtually at Glen Abbey Golf Club, the host of many Canadian Open events. Players were able to recreate iconic shots from Glen Abbey throughout the years, including Tiger Woods’ signature shot from the fairway bunker on the 18th hole at the 2000 Bell Canadian Open.

In the Bantam Boys division, James Wei was in a close battle with 2021 GolfTec National Order of Merit winner Manav Bharani until he went one-under in the final three holes to capture the division.

In the Linkster portion of this weekend’s events, Ty Tischler and Massimo Bonofiglio both won their respective divisions. In our “Longest Drive Contest” after their rounds were complete, Tischler won with a drive that totalled 277 yards!

“After our second weekend at Polair Golf, the CJGA Winter Leagues are gaining traction! As we approach the winter months, it is great to see our players utilizing Polair Golf and our Winter Leagues as a way to develop their games while engaging in competition. Although it was tough to see snow on the ground this weekend, I am glad we were able to stay warm inside while playing the game we all love!” said CJGA Manager of Tour Operations Ryan Shaw.

The next CJGA Winter League events will take place in less than two weeks over the November 27th-28th weekend. Visit CJGA.onpar.golf to register.
