Inclement weather and subsequent course conditions claimed the final round of the CJGA Spring Series at Golden Eagle and was therefore limited to one round of play. However, this did not prevent players from going low in the first round.

Kevin Li continued his solid play and claimed first place in the junior boy’s division with a first round 65 (-5). Li’s five-under par first round gave him a five-stroke advantage over Freddy Sun and Preston Lightle, who both finished in a tie for second. This was Li’s second win in the three events he has played in this year in which he has yet to finish outside the top three.

Tina Jiang claimed victory in the tightly packed junior girl’s division with a 74 (+4) first round. Jiang edged out Karolyn Rombouts, Rebecca Kim, and Yeji Kwon by one stroke who each finished in a tie for second place with a 75 (+5) first round.

In the other closely competitive bantam boy’s division Louis Chun finished atop the field with a one over par 71 first round. Chun also edged out his competition with a one stroke victory over Hyunjun Lee, Jim Zhu and Sukhraj Gill who each shot a first round 72 (+2).

Katherine Hao distanced herself from the rest of her competition with a 69 (-1) first round which gave her a four-stroke victory in the bantam girl’s division. Hao has finished within the top three in two of the three tournaments she has played in thus far this season, with a second-place finish at the CJGA BC Season Opener at University Presented by Red Komodo Golf.

Golden Eagle Golf Club also played host to the CJGA BC Linkster Season Opener at Golden Eagle which took place on Saturday, March 27. Divisional winners of the first CJGA linkster event of the season include:
