~Weber fires final round 71 to come from behind and prevent Gallagher from claiming third straight title~

WELLAND ONTARIO – AUGUST 30, 2019 – The 2019 CJGA Mizuno Canadian National Junior Championship came to its conclusion on Friday evening with four new National Champions being named.  Ella Weber (U19 Girls), Bavake Sihota (U19 Boys), Kevin Lee (U15 Boys) and Lauren Gervais (U15 Girls) were all able to hoist the Mizuno Trophy following four days of intense competition at the Cardinal Lakes Golf Club in Welland, Ontario.

In the Junior Girl’s Division, Ella Weber from Burlington, Ontario had the best final round of the tournament, firing a one-under-par (71) on Friday to trumpet up the leaderboard and into an eventual tie with the third-round leader and defending Mizuno National Champion Sarah Gallagher.  Weber would go on to defeat Gallagher in a play-off to claim her first National Championship and fourth CJGA Championship title and rob Gallagher of a threepeat.

Gallagher (Burlington, ON), who held the tournament lead through the first three days of competition was looking to make history by claiming 2019 her third straight Mizuno National Championship title, having claimed the 2018 Junior Girls division title and the 2017 Bantam Girls division title, however despite firing a solid six-over-par (78) on Friday she was unable to hold off the charging Weber who’s game seemed to peek at just the right time.

Third place in the Junior Girls division went to Milton, Ontario’s Roslyn Rooke who finished 8 shots back of Gallagher and Weber at 320 (+32).
