~Partnership between Golf Quebec and CJGA makes for strong field~
North York, ON (May 3, 2019) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is set to kick off the Eastern Ontario/Quebec portion of their national schedule this weekend with the playing of the CJGA Quebec Junior Open, presented by Humber College PGM. The event, in partnership with Golf Quebec, will see over 100 juniors tee it up with a number of rankings and exemptions on the line.
Competing in open Boys & Girls divisions, juniors will be competing for coveted spots in the IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championship which takes place July 9-12, 2019 in San Diego, CA. Additionally, event rankings up for grabs are AJGA Performance Based Entry, Golf Quebec, GOLFTEC CJGA National Order of Merit (Tier 2), Golf Canada National Order of Merit, Golfweek, and Junior Golf Scoreboard.
Host venue Hawkesbury Golf Course will give the juniors a test this weekend with its signature tree-lined fairways which will demand players to be accurate off the tee. With multiple elevated greens throughout the course, juniors will have to determine elevation changes when hitting approach shots into the greens. Hawkesbury has a reputation of playing much tougher than the yardage on the score card may indicate, which juniors should take note of when mentally preparing for the tournament.
