Richmond Hill, ON (July 23rd, 2017) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association in partnership with Sandarich is excited to hold the Tough as Steel Junior Classic at DiamondBack Golf Club July 24th to July 25th. With a large field in the tournament, good play throughout both rounds will be required to become the champion. DiamondBack was host to the Infiniti Championship on the Canadian Tour for two years along with hosting four Canadian PGA Championships.
DiamondBack Golf Club was opened in 1993 and has humps, bumps and forced carries which will challenge the juniors this week. The course was designed by Rene Muylaert and will provide players with holes where they can attack pins and others they will find difficult. The front nine is hilly and has water on majority of the holes, meanwhile the back nine goes into the valley as holes are carved out of thick trees. The signature hole at DiamondBack is the island green on number eight which will provide some drama throughout the event.
The weather should provide good scoring conditions on Monday and Tuesday as temperatures will hover around 24 degrees with mainly sunny skies and a chance of showers on Monday. This event will be officially ranked by Golf Ontario and Junior Golf Scoreboard.
