Chilliwack, BC (June 12, 2017) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association hosted a Nike Golf Junior Series event this past weekend at the Chilliwack Golf Club in Chilliwack, BC. The juniors really enjoyed playing a well conditioned golf course this past weekend. Overall, there were some great scores and competition across all of the divisions.

Junior Boys U19

Min Hyeong Kang of Abbotsford, BC clinched the Junior Boys division title at Chilliwack. Kang posted rounds of 77-79-156 to narrowly win by one stroke. Kang’s opening round 77 was tied for the best round of the tournament. Kang entered the final round with a three shot lead.

Finishing in second place was Peter Zhang of Surrey, BC. Zhang had scores of 80-77-157 so just finish one stroke off of Kang’s pace. His final round 77 tied Kang for the lowest round in the tournament.

Junior Girls U19

Jessica Wu from Langley, BC ended up on top of the Junior Girls leaderboard on Sunday afternoon at Chilliwack Golf Club. Wu had consistent rounds of 83-83-166 to comfortably win the division title. Both of Wu’s rounds of 83 were the lowest rounds in the tournament.

Grace Chen of Vancouver, BC finished in solo second place at the Nike Golf Junior Series event. Chen also had consistent rounds of 95-95-190.

Bantam Boys U15

Billy Zhang of Coquitlam, BC hoisted the Bantam Boys division trophy this past weekend at the Nike Golf Junior Series event at Chilliwack. Zhang had very consistent and solid rounds of 74-74-148 to win by nine strokes. Zhang’s pair of 74’s were the lowest round posted in the bantam boys division over the weekend.

In second place from Port Coquitlam, BC was Bryan Chan. Chang entered the final round just two shots off of Zhang’s first round lead. Chan had rounds of 76-83-159.
