Richmond Hill, Ont. (February 22, 2017) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is proud to announce that eight of its members will be competing at the 2nd annual Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship. The tournament is set to take place February 24-26, 2017 at TPC Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.

CJGA members Callum Davison, Brendan Dunphy, Thomas Giroux, Chris Horton, Chandler McDowell, Max Sekulic, Emily Zhu and Cynthia Zhao will be amongst the 90 juniors participating in the tournament.

“We are pleased to have eight of our junior members participating in this prestigious event”, said John Lawrence, Managing Director of Tour Operations for the CJGA. “Partnering with events such as this allows CJGA members to gain the proper experience to further develop their golfing careers”.

The invitational event for boys and girls 13-18 will provide participants a PGA Tour-like experience, and the chance to test themselves against premier players from across the globe. From names on their lockers to placards on the range and live scoring throughout the property, the tournament will provide players an experience similar to what Johnson enjoys on tour.

“We’re really excited about the level of Junior players coming down from Canada”, says Jeff Monday, Tournament Director for Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. “Our involvement with the CJGA has ensured great Canadian representation for the first two years of the event, and we hope it continues for a long time.”

Round one starts Friday February 24th at 9:00am local time. For more information, including result, please visit www.worldjuniorgolfchampionship.com/
