Richmond Hill, Ont. (February 1, 2017) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is proud to announce its 2016 National Order of Merit winners. The CJGA National Order of Merit is a ranking system that awards points based on a players position in different tiers of events. The tiers are determined based on the size and strength of field.

“We are excited to announce these winners who worked so hard on and off the course to receive this achievement” said John Lawrence, Managing Director of Tour Operations for the CJGA. “The CJGA National Order of Merit adds depth to our competitions and allows juniors to challenge their abilities and strive for success.”

CJGA JUNIOR TOUR

Bantam Boys U15

Nicholas-AdairNicholas Adair finished in first place amongst his competitors. Adhering to his success, he placed first in the CJGA Ottawa Junior Open and Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy Series. He was also a runner up in the Nike Junior Championship and GNCGA Eastern Canadian Junior Championship.

 

Bantam Girls U15

Jue-WenJue Wen took home the title at the Nike Golf Junior Series at Penn Lakes, leading to her success in the Bantam Girls category. Contributing to her great season she was a runner up in four tournaments including the CJGA Mizuno National Junior Golf Championship, GNCGA Eastern Canadian Junior Championship, CJGA Junior at Cherry Downs and the Nike Golf Junior Series at Caledon Woods.

Junior Boys U19

Thomas-GirouxThomas Giroux finished in the top spot following his first place success at the CJGA Junior at Bethesda Grange and Nike Golf Junior Series at Penn Lakes. He was also a runner up at the Canadian International Junior Challenge.

 

Junior Girls U19

Emily-ZhuEmily Zhu is the first place winner after a great season. Adhering to her success, she took home the title at the Nike Golf Junior Series at Diamondback and Georgian College Junior Series at National Pines. Following her first place titles, she was a runner up at the CJGA Ontario Fall Series at Bethesda Grande and CJGA Junior at Cherry Downs.

Juvenile Boys U17

Jonathon-CramtonJonathan Cramton finished first place at the Nike Golf Junior Championship and Nike Golf Junior Series at Diamondback this season, placing him first in his category. He was also tied as a runner up at the CJGA Junior at Kings Riding.

 

Juvenile Girls U17

Kacey-WalkerKacey Walker finished in the first spot at four events including the Georgian College Junior Series at St. Andrews Valley, CJGA Junior at Cherry Downs, Nike Golf Junior Series at Caledon Woods and CJGA Ontario Junior Series at Blue Springs. She was also a runner up at the Nike Golf Junior Championship.

 

CJGA LINKSTER TOUR

Atom Boys U11

Jordan-HwangJordan Hwang took the first place title after coming first at seven tournaments this past season. These include the CJGA Ontario Linskter Fall Series at Rolling Hills, CJGA Ontario Linskter Series at Winchester, CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Whispering Ridge, CJGA Ontario Linskter Series at Hidden Lake, US Kids Golf World Championship Qualifier, IMG Academy Junior World Championships Qualifier and CJGA Ontario Linkster Ontario Series at Rolling Hills.

Atom Girls U11

Alexa-OuelletAlexa Ouellet finished with the first place title after taking home the title at seven tournaments this past season. These include the CJGA ClubLink Linskter Series at Country Club, CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Whispering Ridge, CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Turnberry, CJGA ClubLink Linkster Series at Wyndance, Bruce Rewards Linkster Open, US Kids Golf World Championship Qualifier and CJGA Linkster Ontario Series at Rolling Hills.

Bantam Boys U15

Brendan-ChanBrendan Chan finished in first place in seven tournaments, placing him first in his category. Adhering to his success, he placed first place in seven tournaments including the CJGA Linskter Tour National Championship, CJGA ClubLink Linster Series at Blue Springs, CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Turnberry, CJGA ClubLink Linkster Series at Wyndance, CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Bathurst Glen, IMG Academy JR World Championships Qualifier and CJGA Linkster Ontario Series at Rolling Hills.

Ayssa-MCkeeAlyssa McKee was the first place champion at five tournaments this season, leading her to the first place title in her category. These tournaments include the CJGA Clublink Linkster Series at Blue Springs, CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Turnberry, US Kids Golf World Championship Qualifier, IMG Academy Jr World Championships Qualifier and CJGA Linkster Ontario Series at Rolling Hills.

Novice Boys U9

Jager-PainJager Pain finished in the first spot after a pristine season. His success was attained through placing first at the the CJGA Linkster Tour National Championship, CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Winchester, CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Bathurst Glen and IMG Academy Jr World Championships Qualifier. The Order of Merit winners behind Pain conclude as Manav Bharani followed by Tru Davidson, Cheho An and Leo Christou.

Novice Girls U9

Angela-WangAngela Yiting Wang was the first place champion in her category. Adhering to her success, she took home the title at all the tournaments she competed in. These consisted of the CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Hidden Lake, US Kids Golf World Championship Qualifier, CJGA ClubLink Linkster Series at Cherry Downs, IMG Academy Jr World Championships Qualifier, CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Oakville, CJGA Linkster Ontario Series at Rolling Hills.

Peewee Boys U13

Andre-ZhuAndre Zhu finished in the first spot after winning first at the CJGA Ontario Linskter Fall Series at Rolling Hills, CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Winchester and the CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Oakville.

 

Peewee Girls U13

Roysee-SoutherlandRoycee Southerland finished in first following her first place title at the CJGA Ontario Linkster Fall Series at Rolling Hills and CJGA ClubLink Linkster Series at Country Club. She was also a runner up at the CJGA Ontario Linkster Fall Series at Station Creek, CJGA Ontario Linkster Series at Turnberry, CJGA Linkster Series at Wyndance and US Kids Golf World Championship Qualifier.

The 2016 winners of the CJGA National Order of Merit will receive a complementary membership for 2017.
