Freedom 55 Financial and CJGA will continue to work together to grow the game of golf from the grassroots level in Canada

Richmond Hill, Ont. (January 12, 2017) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is pleased to announce an extension with Freedom 55 Financial, a division of London Life Insurance Company, as National Partner of the Association through the 2017 season. As National Partner, Freedom 55 Financial is continuing its presence in the Canadian golf industry from the grassroots to the professional level.

Freedom 55 Financial will continue to own title rights to the Clinics for Kids program.  Held during CJGA events, the Clinics for Kids program is designed to invite and encourage youth from local communities to learn the foundations of golf through fun and informative clinics run by CJGA staff and PGA of Canada professionals across Canada.

The CJGA operates a six-stage developmental program open to junior golfers aged 5 to 18 at all skill levels across Canada, aligning with the Long Term Player Development Pathway (LTPD).

“We are extremely pleased to continue the partnership with Freedom 55 Financial as we enter our 25th season” stated Brad Parkins, Chief Operations Officer of the CJGA.  “Freedom 55 Financial has been a big supporter of golf in Canada since 2014 and we look to continue with that momentum heading into 2017 through the CJGA programs and the Freedom 55 Financial Clinics for Kids program.”

“It’s a pleasure to support the Canadian Junior Golf Association,” says Mike Cunneen, Senior Vice-President, Freedom 55 Financial. “We’re committed to helping young people realize their dreams, and helping support the CJGA and the Clinics for Kids program aligns well with our values and focus on health and wellness.”

Freedom 55 Financial has steadily increased its support across the Canadian golf landscape in recent years. The London, Ontario-based company is the presenting sponsor of two Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada events including the season-opening Freedom 55 Financial Open held in Vancouver and the final event of the season, the Freedom 55 Financial Championship, hosted in its home city. Freedom 55 Financial also presents the Freedom 55 Financial Canadian Player of the Week and Canadian Player of the Year awards on the Mackenzie Tour. Furthermore, Freedom 55 Financial has also made a commitment to young Canadian athletes through its #TeamFreedom initiative. The company assists athletes on their path to achieving their dreams while emphasizing the values of goal-setting and surrounding themselves with the right people they need to succeed.

CJGA Alumni, #TeamFreedom member, and recently crowned PGA TOUR winner Mackenzie Hughes renewed his sponsorship deal with Freedom 55 Financial in mid-October.  Hughes has been an ambassador for the Clinics for Kids programs, providing support and input into the programs development. Hughes has been on hand himself to conduct some clinics over the past three seasons.

Representing the CJGA proudly, #TeamFreedom golfers are all CJGA alumni.  Hughes, along with Albin Choi, Matt Hill, Augusta James, Taylor Pendrith, Adam Svensson and Ryan Williams make up the team that carries the Freedom 55 Financial brand with them on golf courses around the world.
