St. Catharines, Ont. (August 31, 2016) – Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) juniors were met with wet and windy conditions for the third round of the CJGA Mizuno National Junior Golf Championship. Despite what is at stake, unfavorable conditions brought in scores higher than we’ve seen over the past two days. Today’s positions will help to forecast how the fourth and final round of the tournament will play out.
Junior Boys Division (U19)
Robbie Latter, 15, from Mississauga, Ont., didn’t go as low as he planned in his third round, but still managed to steal back his lead. Pushed by Johnny Travale, yesterday’s leader, down a spot after making some crucial putts. Latter managed to finish today with a round total of 70 (E), for a three-round total of 207.
Johnny Travale, 15, from Stoney Creek, Ont., ran into a bit of trouble on the course today. Travale battled on the course today but fell short, dropping him down one spot to second. Finishing with a round total of 74 (+3), he will sit with a three-round total of 210.

Junior Girls Division (U19)
Emily Ward, 16, from Niagara Falls, Ont., has reclaimed the lead in the Junior Girls division with four birdies to end with a round total of 74 (+3). Ward now sits with a three-round total of 217 and eager to keep the lead in the final round.
Ellice Hong, 17, from Thornhill, Ont., has moved up the leaderboard into the second place position today with a round total of 72 (+1). Hong played a relatively smooth round, sinking four birdies and going even on more than half of the course. With a round total of 219, we will see where Hong will place tomorrow.
Juvenile Boys Division (U17)
Starting his day with a bogey did not faze Trstenjak for the remainder of his round. With confident putting, Marco Trstenjak, 16, from Winnipeg, MB., ended today with a 68 (-3), his lowest score thus far. Sitting with three-round total of 214, Trstenjak understands that a strong mindset will take him the furthest in his final round.
Sitting three strokes behind are Freddy D’Angelo, 16, from Fonthill, Ont., and Brendan Dunphy, 15, of Whitby, Ont. Both boys played steady rounds, sharing a total of 217 over three rounds. The two will need to step up their game tomorrow for a chance to take over the winning position.

Bantam Boys Division (U15)
Bavake Sihota, 14, from Caledon, Ont., started strong making par on the first seven holes and birdies on the last three. Sihota found the greens to be more receptive after the rain, allowing for a better attack on the pin. Sihota finished today with a round total of 72 (+1) and a three-round total of 216. Sihota currently sits in the top position for the Bantam Boys division. Moving into tomorrow, Sihota will ensure a clear mind to achieve a great score.
In hot pursuit of Sihota are Nicholas Adair, 14, from Kingston, Ont., Kavith Ranchagoda, 14, of Richmond Hill, Ont., Connor Danis, 15, from Iroquois Falls, Ont., and Thomas Latter, 12, of Mississauga, Ont. The group shares a three-round total of 222, which will create an interesting dynamic in their final round.

Bantam Girls Division (U15)
Keeping her lead for the Bantam Girls was Victoria Liu, 13, of Victoria, B.C. Liu stumbled on the front but found her way on the back, making a couple long putts to keep it low. Unbothered by the wet conditions, Liu finished her round with a total of 71 (E), she now sits at a three-round total of 222.
Jue Wen, 14, from North York, Ont., continues to trail behind Liu. Wen, with a round total 75 (+4) and a three-day total of 228, will resume the chase tomorrow morning and attempt to move into the lead position.
