  • Leila Dizon of Los Angeles, California, Mary Parsons of Delta, British Columbia, and Emma Zhao of Windermere, Florida, are deadlocked atop the Girls Division leaderboard at even-par 71. Dizon and Parsons both carded four birdies on the day, Dizon buried three on the front-nine while Parsons did the same on the back-nine. Zhao also had three birdies on the front-nine, and finished the round with six straight pars.
  • Kynadie Adams of Gallatin, Tennessee, is one-stroke behind in second place. This is Adams’ fourth AJGA event of the season, and she has two top-ten finishes in her previous three events. Her highest finish of the summer came at the 2016 Evitt Foundation RTC Junior All-Star, where she finished T3.
  • Peyton Callens of Langton, Ontario, and Kyle Chung of Brampton, Ontario, are tied at 2-under-par 69. Callens had six birdies, while Chung had three birdies, and only one bogey in the round. Callens has finished in the top-ten in all four of his previous AJGA events, and has yet to finish outside of the top-five in 2016. This is Chung’s third career AJGA event, with his highest finish coming at the 2016 Mill Creek Foundation Junior All-Star where he ended the tournament T25.
  • Aidan Gavey of Caledonia, Ontario, is alone in second place after a first round total of even-par 71. Gavey made back-to-back birdies on Nos. 11 & 12 to go along with two other birdies in the round.
