Richmond Hill, Ont. (July 24, 2016) The Canadian Junior Golf Association is set to represent the province of Alberta at the 2016 boys and girls Junior Americas Cup in Mexico and California from July 26-28, 2016. These prestigious tournaments bring together 18 teams from across Canada, the United States, and Mexico to face off in a three-day stroke play tournament.

The boys’ tournament will take place at the Guadalajara Country Club, A.C, in Guadalajara, Mexico, while the girls’ teams are set to take place at the Del Rio Country Club, in Modesto, California. This tournament is a favourite for college golf coaches looking for the newest editions to their teams, as it features some of the best junior golfers in the Americas.

“We are excited to be part of the boys and girls Junior Americas Cup and look forward to representing Alberta proudly” said John Lawrence, CJGA Managing Director of Tour Operations. “This is the second year we have participated and we are thrilled to provide this opportunity for our Alberta members.”

The selection process for both teams was done in conjunction with the 2015 Golf Alberta Order of Merit standings, as well as CJGA qualifiers this season.
