Fenwick, ON (July 8, 2016) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association is happy to announce the return of the Golfweek Canadian Junior Invitational, taking place from July 11-12 in the Niagara Area in Fenwick, ON, for the second year in a row. Following the success of the tournament’s inaugural debut in Canada, Peninsula Lakes Golf Club will serve as the host sight this year.

Designed by renowned Canadian architect, Rene Muylaert, Peninsula Lakes Golf Club has been crafted from the remnants of an old sand and gravel quarry. Today, we recognize the course as a twenty-seven hole, four and a half star facility, as rated by Golf Digest.

Three separate nine holes make up the course and are identified as Quarry, Hillside and Orchard. In respect to the Golfweek Canadian Junior Invitational, golfers will play the Quarry and Hillside. A notable feature of the Quarry are four large ponds that come into play on holes one, two, five and six. Not to be outdone, Hillside poses it’s own challenges for golfers. Located adjacent to the Quarry, Hillside features an island green on hole eight, while hole four is known to be “the hardest hole in Niagara”.

Listed as one of the best conditioned courses in Ontario, Peninsula Lakes Golf Club is surely set to provide the Golfweek Canadian Junior Invitational with two exciting rounds of competition in the days ahead.

Schedule
July 11 – Round One – 10:20 a.m – 3:10 p.m.
July 12 – Round Two – 8:00 a.m – 12:50 p.m.
