Kanata, Ont. (June 3, 2016) –ClubLink’s Kanata Golf and Country Club in Kanata, Ont., will play host to the second Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy Series event of the season. Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) Junior Tour golfers will compete in six divisions with winners earning an invitation to play in the International Junior Masters. Also being featured at Kanata will be the CJGA Linkster Tour on Saturday, June 4 for a one-day tournament.

One of the most prestigious junior tournaments in the USA, the International Junior Masters is the oldest International Junior Golf Invitational in North America. Since 1953, juniors have flocked to East Aurora, NY to test their mettle in the 5 rounds of stiff competition. Known for having some of the quickest greens and rolling hills, the East Aurora Country Club has proudly hosted the IJM since the tournament’s inception. Opened originally in 1965, the course was completely redesigned by renowned architect Tom McBroom in 1990. The strategically placed mature trees, rolling mounds and large bunkers set the tone for the course, while its small/mid sized tricky greens place a premium on shot selection and ball control.

Known as one of the best maintained courses in the Ottawa area, Kanata Golf and Country Club played host to the 2001 Nations’ Cup featuring teams of the best female pros from Canada, the U.S., and Sweden. In fact, it was on the short but difficult par-3 16th hole (considered one of the most challenging in the region) that proved critical during Lorie Kane’s match against Annika Sorenstam.
