Burnaby, B.C., (May 9, 2016) –Canadian Junior Golf Association’s Linkster Series finished up the weekend at Riverway Golf Course in Burnaby B.C. The field of golfers didn’t shy away from competition in hopes of winning their division titles.
Novice Boys (U9)
In his third season with the CJGA, Maxim McKenzie, 8, Abbotsford B.C. 39 (+3) took home the Novice Boys title, adding a third CJGA win of the season.
Langley B.C., golfer, Soohan Park, 8, carded a round total of 43 (+7) for the runner up position.
Novice Girls (U9)
Shanya Christian, 8, from Coquitlam, B.C., fired a round of 53 for the Novice Girls division title.
Atom Boys (U11)
Native to Burnaby, B.C., Jay Xu, 9, was the Atom Boys division winner. Xu finished the round with three birdies, carding a round of 75 (+3)
Emil Liddell, 9, Vancouver, B.C., came up in second with a round total of 83.
Atom Girls (U11)
Elise Liu, 9, Richmond, B.C., shared more than a last name with Michelle Liu, 9, from Vancouver B.C., this weekend. Both golfers carded a round of 78 (+6) sending them into a playoff round.
Melinda Wang, 9 Richmond, B.C., came up in second with a tournament total of 84.
Peewee Boys (U13)
Benjamin Kang, 12, Vancouver, B.C., achieved his first CJGA win, posting a round total of 80 (+8).
Zackary Wilensky, 12, Coquitlam, B.C., follow one stroke behind with a round score of 81 (+9)
Bantam Boys (U15)
Richard Zhang, 14, Coquitlam, B.C., and first year member of CJGA has been working his way up the ranks this season. Zhang fired a round of 77 (+5) taking home the Bantam Boys division title and added his first CJGA win to his resume.
In the runner up position was Vancouver golfer, Joshua Wong, 14, with a round total of 85.
