Acton, Ont., (May 9, 2016) -Competitors showed their best at the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) Junior Tour at Blue Springs in Acton, Ont. Junior Golfers competed to earn exemptions to CJGA PING Canadian Junior Match Play Championship and the CJGA Mizuno National Junior Golf Championship. Luca Ferrara did just that in his first year as a CJGA member.

Bantam Boys (U15)

Toronto Golfer, Luca Ferrara, 15, had tough competition for the Bantam Boys title. Ferrara pared majority of the course, earning his first CJGA career win with a round total of 75 (+3).

A stroke behind Ferrara was Michael Ikejiani, 15, of Minesing, Ont., and Carlito Reyes, 15, from Markham Ont. Both golfers carded scores of 76 (+4), giving them the runner up position.

Bantam Girls (U15)

Bantam Girls division winner, Vailayanti Bharkhada, 14, from Brampton Ont. Bharkhada has been a CJGA member for six years. She showed a round total of 84 for the first place position.

Mackenzie Morrison, 13, from Toronto Ont., followed behind with a tournament total of 95.

Junior Boys (U19)

Shayne Simpson, 17, from Belleville, Ont., took home his first CJGA win, naming him the Junior Boys division winner with a round total of 81 (+9).

A stroke behind Simpson, John Burghart, 17, from Oakville, Ont., fell into second place with a round score of 81 (+10).

Junior Girls (U19)

CJGA golfer of three years, Ciara Costabile, 18, from Ayr, Ont., fired a round of 96, giving her the Junior Girls division title.

Stephanie Chiarotto, 18, from Bolton, Ont., took the runner up position showing a round total of 111.

Juvenile Boys (U17)

It took a playoff round between, Max Wang, 15, from Brampton Ont.,

Julian Crupi, 15, from Woodbridge, Ont., and Tate Smith, 14, from Burlington Ont., before Wang was determined the Juvenile Boys division winner. In round one, all three shot a tournament total of 81 (+9).

Juvenile Girls (U17)

Kacey Walker, 16, from Mississauga Ont., earned her first CJGA win with a tournament total of 89.

The CJGA Junior Tour will host their next event at Station Creek Golf Club in Stouffville Ont.
