Surrey, B.C. (March 15, 2016) – The field is set and the weather forecast is good for this week’s Canadian Junior Golf Association Western Canada Junior Championship presented by the Tour Performance LAB at Northview GC in Surrey, B.C.

Junior golfers from across Canada, representing six provinces, make up the field of 96 golfers competing in their age division for the Western Canada CJGA title. The age divisions for the boys and girls entered include: Junior U19; Juvenile U17 and Bantam U15.

Many of the Canada’s top junior golfers are in the field. This includes members of Golf Canada’s Junior Boys and Girls Development teams who are preparing for their competitive season in the 54-hole championship played over three days (March 17-19) on Northview’s championship Ridge Course.

Members of Team Canada Boy’s Development Team include: Charles Eric Belanger, Quebec; A.J. Ewart, B.C.; Tony Gil and Thomas “Jack” Simpson, Ontario. The Girls Development Team members playing include: Tiffany Kong, Vancouver; Hannah Lee, Surrey and Katherine Chan, Richmond.

The competitive field includes a strong contingent of B.C players including: Diego San Pedro, Richmond; Keaton Gudtz and Josh Miller; Victoria; Shirin Anjarwalla, Nanaimo; Euna Han, Jaya Rampuri and Henry Lee, Coquitlam; Alisha Lau, Richmond; Amanda Minni and Mary Parsons, Delta; Callum Davison, Duncan; Jae Wook Lee and Ye Ji Lim, Langley; Khan Lee, Tanvir Kahlon and Susan Xiao, Surrey..

The final round of the three-day tournament will feature the same last day pin placements that were played at Northview when the PGA Tour’s Air Canada championship was last played here.

Wednesday’s practice round for the contestants will feature a Long Drive Competition hosted by Northview’s Tour Performance LAB and a welcome dinner with a list of guest speakers including Team Canada Development Team Coaches Robert Ratcliffe and Ann Carroll. First groups tee off Thursday at 9:00 a.m.
