Richmond Hill, ON (December 17, 2015) The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is pleased to announce the release of the 2016 national tournament schedule. Heading into the association’s 24th year of operation, the CJGA will provide unmatched opportunities for junior golfers aged 5-19 right across Canada with 107 domestic events on the national schedule.

The CJGA Junior Tour (boys & girls aged 11-19) will have 58 events across Canada to participate in while the CJGA Linkster Tour (boys & girls aged 5-14) will have 47 events in five different provinces. Complimentary golf clinics will once again take place at each CJGA stop as part of the Freedom 55 Financial Clinics for Kids program, supported by the CJGA’s National Partner, Freedom 55 Financial.

“We continue to build programming and event schedules across the country with the support of our members and sponsors,” said John Lawrence, CJGA Director of Tour Operations.  “Junior golfers in this country will have no shortage of opportunity for tournament competition this coming season and we’re excited about the prospects of another successful season both domestically and on the international stage.”

As announced back in October, the CJGA has restructured its age divisions for 2016, aligning with the Long Term Player Development (LTPD) Guide and Junior Golf Development Pathway.  The Association has also partnered with Canadian PGA Tour Player David Hearn that will see the inaugural David Hearn Junior Open take place at Rockway Vineyards in early October. The open event will raise funds and awareness for the David Hearn Foundation.

There will be a number of fantastic events CJGA members can participate in throughout the season, including the Nike Golf Junior Series, an eight event series which will span the entire country, culminating in the Nike Golf Junior Championship, a winners-only event. Other events on the national junior schedule that will highlight the 2016 season include:
