Markham, ON (September 6, 2015) – A selected field of top junior golfers from across Canada competed today at the final round of the Nike Golf Junior Championship at Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ontario. In addition to battling their fellow competitors, players also had to deal with the hot and humid conditions as temperatures reached 40 degrees. After it was all said and done, Max Sekulic, Dee Xie, Noémie Pare, and Emily Romancew were crowned divisional champions.
Boys 15-19
Max Sekulic of Rycroft, AB claimed a wire-to-wire victory today at the Nike Golf Junior Championship. Sekulic fired a final round score of 74 (+2) to finish with a tournament total of 222 (+6). When asked about Angus Glen, Sekulic had this to say, “This is such a great course because of how fair it plays. There is room off the tee, but once you get to the greens it gets quite tricky.” Starting the day five strokes behind the lead, Long Sault’s Ty Celone came out firing. Celone found himself three-under par through ten holes, and eventually finished with a score of 71 (-1). However, Celone’s Sunday charge came up just short as his tournament total of 224 (+8) was not good enough to overtake Sekulic.
Girls 15-19
Noémie Pare of Victoriaville, QC claimed her first ever CJGA title today after shooting a final round score of 76 (+4). Pare’s tournament total of 233 (+17) was good enough for a commanding victory. Pare credits her 
practice after round one as a key reason she was able to win today. “I was really disappointed with my chipping after the first round, so I forced myself to hit a lot of chips that afternoon.” With weekend scores of 75 (+3) and 76 (+4), that practice definitely paid off for Noémie Pare.
Boys 14 & Under
At the beginning of the day, six players were within five strokes of the lead. With competitors so tightly packed together, someone would need to go low in order to claim the Boys 14 & Under title. Dee Xie of Toronto, 
ON answered that call, and was able to separate himself from the pack by shooting a superb round of 72 (E). His tournament total of 228 (+12) was enough to give him a five stroke victory over North York’s Gerry Mei. “I have played CJGA events since I was eight years old, and have been able to win on the CJGA before. However, I don’t think that anything can compare with this victory,” said a very pleased Dee Xie. “I am extremely happy to finish the summer by capturing such a prestigious title!”
Girls 14 & Under
For the second time during the Nike Golf Junior Championship, Emily Romancew of Pierrefonds, QC was the lone player in her division to break 80. Despite playing her final nine holes six-over par, Romancew held 
on to shoot a final round 79 (+7). Coming into the day with a large lead, Emily’s game plan was simple – have fun. “I thought I performed quite well this weekend, despite my short game not being very sharp, said an ecstatic Romancew. “I really enjoyed playing with all my fellow competitors this weekend, and being able to win just adds to this great weekend.”
