Final Tournament Results

Richmond Hill (August 24th, 2015) With sunny skies and ideal conditions, CJGA Linkster’s participated in a 9-hole tournament at The Country Club in Woodbridge, ON this past Friday. With a four-way tie for second place for the boys 11-13 division, the tournament’s competition was tough.

Girls 9 & Under

Capturing first place with a four-stroke lead was Lindsay McGrath of Oakville, ON. Finishing with a final score of 35(+4), nine-year-old Lindsay had a strong and steady game throughout.

Right behind Lindsay was Brooklyn Hughes, of Alliston, ON with a final score of 39.

Only one stroke behind Brooklyn, was Alexa Ouellet of Toronto, ON who finished with a final score of 40.

Boys 8 & Under

Taking first place for the Boys 8 & Under division was Finn Foster of Brantford, ON. With his third win of the season, Finn finished with a final score of 35(+4) and had an outstanding three consecutive birdie’s on holes 5 through 7.

Right on Finn’s tail was Westley Wong, of Stouffvile, ON. Westley finished with a final score of 36 in his third event of the season.

With a final score of 37, Aidan Talent of Brooklin ON, claimed third for his division.

Boys 9-10

Participating in his ninth event of the season with the CJGA, Jaden Chan of Markham, ON finished with a final score of 36(+4). This being his second win on the season, Jaden was proud to claim first.

Right behind Jaden, was Brandon Nye of Brooklin, ON who finished with a final score of 37 (+5) and came second for his division. Finishing strong with a birdie, Brandon wrapped up his fourth tournament of the season.

Close behind was Kevin Lee, of Markham ON who finished with a final score of 38 (+6).

Girls 10-13

With a three-stroke lead, Gracie Halcrow of Richmond Hill, ON finished with a final score of 42. This being her sixth event of the season, Gracie had her first win of the season.

Three strokes behind Gracie, was Nicole Gal of Oakville, ON and Alexandra Trojak of Oakville, ON. Both finished with a final score of 45, and fought hard to take second place.

Boys 11-13

Stealing first place for the Boys 11-13 division with a final score of 31(+1) was Justin Lee, of Markham, ON. Capturing his first win of the season, Justin had two birdies, and almost always made par.

Second place was fought hard for- with four players finishing with a final score of 33(+3). Brendan Chan of Markham, ON, Nolan Michelberger of Aurora, ON, Ryan Hogan of Burlington, ON, and Justin Matthews of Little Britain, ON all respectively tied for second place.

Looking forward, the next CJGA Linkster event will be held at Winchester Golf Club in Brooklin, ON. This next tournament is a part of the CJGA Linkster Ontario Series, and will be the eighth event of the series.
