CJGA Atlantic Junior Championship Set To Cap Off Atlantic Season

Richmond Hill, ON (August 11, 2015) – The CJGA Junior Tour and Linkster Tour are headed out east for the final events of the Atlantic Canada Series this season. These events will be held at the breathtaking Oakfield Golf and Country Club in Oakfield, NS. The CJGA Atlantic Junior Championship will feature golfers up to 19 years of age from across eastern Canada. This two-day event will allow juniors golfers to compete for the top spot of the CJGA Order of Merit for the Atlantic series. Claiming this top spot would earn an exemption into the Mackenzie Tour’s Cape Breton Celtic Classic.

The CJGA Linkster tour is also headed to Oakfield for its last event of the season on the Atlantic series. The CJGA Linksters will hit the greens on Tuesday looking to claim top spot in a field full of strong golfers. Golfers ages 5-13 will be competing at Oakfield’s challenging championship course to close out the Atlantic series.

Oakfield Golf & Country Club’s championship 18 hole golf course is a par 72. The course has undergone many renovations and upgrades through the years, with the most notable being the re-design of the course and re-laying of the greens, which was completed in 2003. This upgrade was designed by renowned course architect Graham Cooke and is one of the principal reasons Oakfield continues to maintain its reputation as being one of Atlantic Canada’s finest golf courses.

Oakfield has always maintained the fundamental philosophy on which it was founded and we are proud to be a golf club with an enviable reputation of providing all visitors to the club with a warm welcome, unrivalled camaraderie and a magnificent golf course.

The weather forecast for Monday and Tuesday calls for sunny and partly cloudy with temperature projected to be in the 20’s.
