Fredericton, NB (July 10, 2015) – The final round of the CJGA Junior at Kingswood Park and the CJGA Linkster New Brunswick at Kingswood hosted at the Kingswood Park Golf Club have come to exciting conclusions in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Sunny skies and warm weather provided a great stage for Atlantic golfers to test their skills on the highly regarded Signature course.

Alex Ross of Halifax, NS captured the victory of the Boys 11-13 Division. Ross edged out Davis Embleton and Michael Goodyear by shooting a final round score of 52-48-100. The three golfers played in the same group during the round, which provided for an exciting finish on 18.

Rothesay, NB native Isaac Darling shot the two lowest rounds of the tournament, 73 and 75, on his way to first place in the Boys 14 & Under Division. Darling credits his mid-range game for allowing him to play such great rounds. Coming in a close second was Nathan Hogan of Bathurst, NB by shooting a consistent 80-80-160.

Hometown Fredericton golfer Mackenzie Clark posted scores of 85 and 80, which was enough to secure the first place spot in the Boys 15-19 Division. Clark beat out fellow Fredericton native Graham Gourley for his first CJGA win of the 2015 season.

In the Girls 14 & Under Division, Mackenzie Scott of Upper Hamstead, NB captured her first CJGA win. ”I drove the ball really well, which allowed me to be in a good spot to hit a wedge for my second shot on the par 4s,” said Scott about her strengths over the two days. She also mentioned how important it is to stay positive after hitting a bad shot, as there are plenty of other shots to make.

Laura Jones of Moncton, NB played two great rounds of 82 and 79 for a two-day total of 161, which secured first place in the Girls 15-19 Division. Even though it was her first time playing the course, she was able to consistently keep the ball in play during the two rounds. “It is always great to play in CJGA Tournaments. They are a lot of fun and the win feels great,” said Jones following the final round.
