IMG_0756Richmond Hill, ON (June 22, 2015) – CJGA Linksters were treated to excellent weather conditions on Saturday for the US Kids Golf World Championship – Team East Qualifier at Club de Golf Val des Lacs in Saint-Sophie, QC. All juniors battled valiantly in their attempts to not only win their divisional title, but to also try and qualify for the prestigious US Kids tournament in Pinehurts, NC. In the end, Vasily Konachenkov, William Dallaire, Yasmine Daoud, Garret Cowan, and Carlee Meilleur were all crowned their respective division champions.

Boys 11-13

The Boys 11-13 division was very tightly contested this weekend, with only six shots separating first and fifth. After regulation, Vasily Konachenkov of Montreal, QC and Malik Dao of Notre-Dame Ile Perrot, QC were tied after shooting rounds of 76 (+5). On the third playoff hole, Konachenkov was able to make par to secure the victory of Dao. Missing out on the playoff in third place was Austin Giroux of Newport, VT who shot a round of 77 (+6).

Boys 9-10

William Dallaire of Levis, QC continued his winning streak this weekend at Club de Golf Val des Lacs by shooting a round of 95 (+24). Dallaire was also victorious the previous weekend in the Veritas World Junior Canadian Qualifier.

Girls 10-13

In the Girls 10-13 division, Yasmine Daoud continued her hot play on the CJGA Linkster tour with a winning score of 85 (+14). This is Daoud’s second CJGA Linkster victory so far this season.

Boys 8 & Under

The winner in the Boys 8 & Under division was also decided in a playoff. Garret Cowan of Kingston, ON and Landon Van Loon of Ingleside, ON were both tied after nine holes after shooting scores of 40 (+5). Both players were intent on winning the division, with Garret Cowan eventually winning on the third playoff hole. Only one shot back in third place was Charles-Edmond Proulx of Longueuil, QC with a round of 41.

Girls 9 & Under

The lone player in the Girls 9 & under division was Carlee Meilleur with a round of 51 (+16).
