Abbotsford, BC (May 4, 2015) It was a weekend of milestones at the CJGA Junior at Ledgeview Golf Club in Abbotsford this past weekend with Jacob Hayes, Amy Ehlert, and Peter Zhang getting their first career CJGA wins, Ye Ji Lim also came home with her first of title of the season
Girls 14 & Under
Amy Ehlert played in her first CJGA tournament this weekend. Amy shot a 91 in the first round and improved her score to an astounding 85 in the second round on route to winning her first CJGA Tournament. Jennifer Gu had a strong performance but came up just short and was the runner up losing in a playoff to Ehlert.
Girls 15-19
Ye Ji Lim earned her first CJGA win this year, after winning twice last fall. This is her third CJGA title of her career. Lim scored a 78 through the first round shooting 12 pars and improving to a 77 in the second round. Falling to Lim was Karen Zhang who scored a 77 in round 1 and 79 in round 2. Karen was the leader after the first round but lost by one stroke after scoring a 79 in the second round.
Lim hit the par-five 18th green in two and giving her a put for eagle. After leaving her first putt short she proceeded to miss the next putt but managed to tap in for a par for a narrow one-stroke victory.
When asked about how she handles the pressure of a close matchup Lim responded by saying “It was a pretty tight game, the last hole I was a bit nervous. Karen made a birdie on the last hole and I had the same putt as yesterday when I four-putted the last hole. My game has been up and down this year, for a while there I couldn’t break 80. A few weeks ago that changed and I’m playing much better.”
Boys 14 & Under
Peter Zhang also recorded his first career CJGA win this weekend. Zhang shot 82 in the first round and improved to a 78 in the second. When asked how he felt about his first CJGA win Zhang joyfully responded “I am really excited, all the work is paying off. I practice a lot at The Lab at 
Northview.”
Leo Harper finished the weekend in 2nd place after a strong effort put forward. Harper scored 85 in the first round and improved in round 2 with a score of 80 which was enough to give him the 2nd place finish.
One highlight of the division was Echo Wu recorded who collected his first career ace with a hole-in-one on the 17th hole in round 1.
Boys 15-19
This weekend was a big weekend for Jacob Hayes who scored a 73 in the first round and a 73 in the second round finishing the tournament with a total score of 146 for his first CJGA win of his junior career. Hayes has been a regular player on the CJGA Junior Tour for the past two years and after all his hard work and dedication finally pulls through with his first win of the season.
When asked about how he felt about the win Hayes responded with enthusiasm saying, “it’s a good boost for my confidence. Both days I hit the ball fairly well. I hit my fair share of greens because I felt like I could dial in my yardages pretty good. Tee-to-green I was solid but both days I 
missed a couple of putts I should have made. The ones that you really can’t miss. “
Playing on his home course Nathan Bahnman of Abbotsford, finished alone in second place.
The CJGA BC will now head to Chilliwack for the CJGA Junior at Royalwood Golf Club on May 16th-17th.
