Palm Harbor, FL (December 27, 2014) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) will conduct the 22nd annual CJGA World Junior Challenge, presented by Golfweek at Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club starting tomorrow. A field of over 170 juniors representing 14 countries will flock to the Palm Harbor resort in hopes of putting their name on the annual Stan Boshier trophy.

CJGA Junior Tour will tackle the Copperhead and Island courses during the three day event. Juniors will play one round on each course over the first two days, with the top 50% (plus ties) of players moving onto the Championship round on the Copperhead course while the Island course will host the consolation round. On the North Course will be the CJGA Junior Linkster Tour for a two day event.

“We are excited to be back at Innisbrook Resort this year for the twenty second playing of the CJGA World Junior Challenge” stated Tournament Director John Lawrence. “We are excited to host 14 countries this year as well as our defending champion Selena Costabile.”

The CJGA World Junior Challenge has become one of the CJGA’s flagship events on it’s national schedule and continues to see an increase in top players from around the world. “We are very pleased with the increased level of competition the event see’s year after year” added Lawrence. “It is remarkable to look back at past results and see who has played and where they are today.”

The event has had a number of notable past participants including PGA Tour member and Georgia native Harris English. English captured the event twice (2003 and 2004) during his junior career. CJGA alumni and PGA Tour member Adam Hadwin also participated in the tournament along with numerous collegiate players.
