Hawkesbury, On (May 14, 2015) – Top junior golfers from Quebec and Eastern Ontario will gather at the 5th annual CJGA Quebec Junior Open at Hawkesbury Golf and Curling Club in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Juniors will battle for exemptions in several international events as well as points for the Golf Quebec’s Order of Merit and CJGA’s National Order of Merit.

The CJGA Quebec Junior Open is an invitation only event that recognizes top junior golfers in the province of Quebec and Eastern Ontario. The Canadian Junior Golf Association in partnership with Golf Quebec conducts the event, to give exceptional junior golfers in Quebec and Eastern Ontario the opportunity to develop and showcase their competitive skills at the highest level of tournament golf. Exclusive to the Quebec Junior Open, divisional champions will receive a covenant spot on CJGA Team Canada at the IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championships in San Diego, California.

“We are very excited to continue our strong partnership with Golf Quebec. This relationship allows both organizations’ junior golfers to compete at a high level” said CJGA’s Managing Director of Tour Operations John Lawrence. “This year’s field is perhaps the strongest we have seen in tournament history and Hawkesbury should prove to be a tough test.”

“We are extremely happy to partner with the CJGA for this event and give our players another high level competition. The field is strong this week and the fact that 3 spots are available to gain access to the Boys’ Provincial Championship gives an extra incentive to the Golf Québec players to play well at the CJGA Quebec Junior Open” said Eric Couture, Tournament Director for Golf Quebec.
