Lethbridge, AB (April 28, 2017) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) looks to begin its Alberta season this weekend with the Nike Golf Junior Series at Henderson Lake Golf Club in Lethbridge, AB. Junior golfers from across western Canada will be competing within their divisions for a chance to represent CJGA Team Canada at the 15th North America Cup, a tournament in which Rickie Fowler was a part of as a member of Team USA.
When juniors arrive on Saturday for the first round at Henderson Lake, they will be faced with a very picturesque golf course, in which they will need to focus away from the views and more on hitting accurate tee shots. Players accuracy will be tested throughout the weekend as Henderson Lake Golf Club requires players to have precise shots to avoid the strategically placed water hazards and bunkers.
Juniors will face consistent weather this week in Lethbridge. Weather forecasts predict partly cloudy skies with an average temperature of 14 degrees, perfect weather to kick off the 2017 CJGA season in the prairies.
This tournament will be officially ranked by Alberta Golf which provides juniors the opportunity to gain ranking points. The junior boys division will be able to earn JAC Alberta Order of Merit points to qualify for the Junior America’s Cup.
