Dear CJGA Members,
Firstly, we at the CJGA wish that you, your families and your loved ones are keeping safe and staying healthy during this incredibly challenging time.
As we approach a long weekend that would typically see a plethora of junior golf tournaments throughout the country, we are encouraged by improving conditions concerning the COVID-19 pandemic across the country. This shows that all of you are doing your part to reduce the spread and flatten the curve. As of today, we understand golf courses in every province are either open for business in some capacity or have a scheduled date for opening, another encouraging sign for all golfers.
With respect to a 2020 competitive schedule, we continue to have open dialogue with our industry partners at the Provincial Golf Associations and Golf Canada. We continue to assess the situation from coast-to-coast, along with the operational parameters in place at our host facilities.
While we are excited to see golf courses being permitted to open across the country for us all to enjoy, the health and safety of our members, staff, volunteers, and host facilities is of the utmost importance to the CJGA. We are committed to making informed and responsible decisions that protect each of our stakeholders, along with conducting competitions that uphold the integrity of the game, follow the Rules of Golf, and provide a safe environment for everyone involved.
We will be providing an update in the near future as to what the 2020 CJGA national season will look like, please stay tuned.
COVID-19 KINDNESS / FRONT LINE WORKERS RECOGNITION
