Richmond Hill, ON (August 26th, 2015) This past Monday and Tuesday, the CJGA Junior event of the season took place at Royal Woodbine Golf Club in Toronto, ON. While the wind was unforgiving, player’s continued to improve their game throughout the two-day tournament.

Girls 14 & Under

Leading the Girls 14 & Under division was thirteen-year-old Vaijayanti Bharkhada of Brampton, ON. Vaijayanti finished with a tournament total of 156. This being her second victory of the season, she was very pleased with her overall game. This was her last tournament of the season, and she made sure to go out with a bang.

Finishing second for the Girls 14 & Under division was Alexandra Jucan of Woodbridge, ON. Alexandra finished with a tournament total of 205 and had her best finish yet.

Boys 14 & Under

Finishing with two stroke victory was Adam Casar of Etobicoke, ON who posted a tournament total of 157. This was Adam’s first win of the season with the CJGA in his fifth event. Adam’s iron’s got him through the tournament, not hitting driver once over the two days. A final round 76 was good enough to earn him the victory.

The second place spot was given to Connor Munro and Jackson Rothwell both of Etobicoke, ON and Creamore, ON respectively. Both of the players finished with a tournament total of 159.

Girls 15-19

Playing in her first tournament, Alessia Channell of Woodbridge, ON was able to grab her the victory in the Girls 15-19 division. Channell struggled with her iron game over the two days, but relied on a hot putter for the win.

Boys 15-19

After a tough first round, Keaton Veillette of Toronto, ON posted a second round 69 on his way to a one stroke victory.. Making four birdies in the final round, Keaton claimed his second win of the season. Veillette will be playing next at the CJGA Ontario Junior Fall Series event at Bethesda Grange at the end of September

Right behind Keaton was Daniel George of Richmond Hill, ON who finished with a final tournament total of 150.

Canadian Junior Golf Association
