Notah Begay III Canadian National JR Championship in conjunction with The CJGA partners with US Golf Academy, Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Minnesota

The Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship and the Canadian Junior Golf Association is excited to be working together! This new partnership will provide an opportunity for juniors to come to the states to attend the Academy. Shattuck-St. Mary’s will offer services to our junior golf families throughout all of the provinces in Canada.

The NB3 JGNC, and CJGA are currently entering into their 2^nd year of working together so that the Canadian juniors will have access to the NB3. These juniors will have the chance to play in the 2^nd annual Canadian JR Championship in Quebec. TSN will live stream the coverage and those top finishers will be invited to the 54-hole National Championship that is televised on Golf Channel in the states.

About Notah Begay III Jr Golf National Championship:

The Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship is in its fifth year and aims to grow the game of golf by providing a platform for players to compete against the best juniors in the Country in a true, open qualifying series. The National Championship will be televised on Golf Channel in prime time that will be airing over 4 hours of broadcast time that has never been done before. These players will have a chance to be recognized on a platform like no other, increasing the chances to #getNOTAHced by college coaches around the country.

CJGA Mourns Passing of Former Director of Rules and Competition, Anne Edgar Dodds-Hebron

The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is saddened to hear about the passing of former Director of Rules and Competition, Anne Edgar Dodds-Hebron, who left us on October 25^th, 2023, at the age of 70. We would like to send our condolences to the family of Anne during this difficult time.

Anne devoted her life to the game of golf and was enthusiastic in educating all players on the rules, exemplified in her serving as CJGA Director of Rules and Competition up until 2021. Anne’s service to the CJGA and junior golf in Canada lives on today and will continue to for years to come.

CJGA Alumnus, Nick Taylor, wins RBC Canadian Open

Richmond Hill, Ontario (June 12th, 2023) – When the CJGA began 30 years ago, it had a dream to help develop our countries top junior golfers for the future of Canada, to put Canada on the World stage in golf.

Since the CJGA has moved forward, many of its juniors have moved on to play on the PGA Tour proving that the Canadian Junior Golf Association is Canada’s #1 Developmental Golf Tour in Canada.

The RBC Canadian Open field consisted of many CJGA Alumni; Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes, Adam Svensson, Nick Taylor, Adam Hadwin, Roger Sloan, Ben Silverman, Aaron Cockerill, Michael Gligic, Daniel Kim, Stuart Macdonald, Johnny Travale, Myles Creighton and Taylor Pendrith.

On Sunday, June 11, 2023, Nick Tayler, who has already won on the PGA Tour, won the RBC Canadian Open. Nick was the first Canadian to win the RBC Canadian Open since Pat Fletcher won it in 1954. This marks one of the greatest moments in Canadian Sports in some time.

“Nick was one of the Juniors that I had taken to represent CJGA Team Canada in World Competitions several times,” said Earl Fritz, CJGA CEO. “I always knew that he had greatness in him.”

The Canadian Junior Golf Association provides over 130 junior events throughout Canada plus the World Junior Challenge held December 27-30th each year at the Innisbrook Resort in Florida.
