Richmond Hill (July 1st, 2015) Yesterday, in the township of Douro-Dummer the CJGA held a one-day event for the Ontario Series at Wildfire Golf Club. With sunny skies, the Junior’s aged 12-19 took on Wildfire’s challenging landscape. While the conditions were ideal, the tough course still made for a challenge.
Boys 14 & Under
In the spotlight, was Cody Clark of Little Britain, ON and Ethan Cardwell of Courtice, ON. As both boys finished the 18-hole tournament with a final score of 79(+7), a playoff proceeded. After a two-hole playoff, Cody came out on top. As he had already displayed throughout the day how well of a steady player he was- he rightfully captured his first win of the season.
Ethan, who alike Cody finished with a final score of 79 also proved to be a strong player. Twelve-year-old Ethan while finishing second, had his 4th top five finish of the season.
Girls 15-19
Finishing first for the Girls 15-19 division of Bolton, ON was Stephanie Chiarotto. Seventeen-year-old Stephanie finished her third tournament of the season with a final score of 99. Stephanie can next be seen at the CJGA Junior at King’s Riding.
Boys 15-19
Taking first place with a four-stroke lead was Tyler White of Peterborough, ON. While Tyler was one of the youngest in his division, he was still able to finish with a final score of 78(+6). Moving forward, Tyler will be playing next in our PING Canadian Junior Match Play Championship happening later next week.
Not far behind Tyler, was Saurav Bubber of Mississauga, ON. Saurav finished with a final score of 82- taking second by just a one-stroke.
The CJGA Ontario Series made its fourth and final of four at Wildfire Golf Club. Next up for the CJGA Ontario Series will be the CJGA Ontario Fall Series that will debut on September 12th at Hidden Lake Golf Club in Burlington, ON.
