Hamilton, ON (June 14, 2015)- The CJGA Linksters took to the course at Chedoke Golf Club in hopes of gaining the victory in their respective divisions. The day began with a downpour that would cause an hour delay for the golfers but this poor weather was not enough to stop some intense competition.

Boys 11 – 13

In a division full of strong golfers, Beni Long (Toronto, ON) was able to claim victory on the day. Long finished strong by birdieing four out the last five holes on his way to shooting a round of 72 (E). Following a strong showing last year, Peter Blazevic (Burlington, ON) took home second place with a score of 74 (+2). Finishing in third place was Owen Kim (Mississauga, ON) with a score of 76 (+4).

Girls 10 – 13

Vanessa Borovilos (Toronto, ON) fought hard to gain her first victory with the CJGA in 2015. Borovilos battled the weather to shoot a great round of 79 (+7). Second place came down to a two-stroke difference with Skylar Kew (Burlington, ON) coming out on top, with Alex Trojak (Oakville, ON) right behind in third place.

Boys 9 – 10

Andre Zhu (Richmond Hill, ON) continued his dominance this season claiming his fourth 1st place finish. The competition was very close in this division as Zhu only won by three strokes, shooting an impressive 76 (+4). Nathan Yoo (Toronto, ON) fell just short of the victory shooting a 79 (+7) but was able to claim second with an eagle on his card. Rounding out the top three was Alex Long (Toronto, ON) who was one stroke behind Yoo with a round of 80 (+8).

Girls 9 & Under

In a division with many talented young golfers, Ella Weber (Burlington, ON) claimed victory in her first tournament of the year shooting a score of 45 (+7). Yerin Lee (Toronto, ON) was the second place finisher in the division carding a score of 50 (+12). In third place Laura Jauhal (Ancaster, ON) was able to shoot a 52 (+14) to repeat last years results at Chedoke Golf Club where she also finished in third place.

Boys 8 & Under

Jordan Hwang (Richmond Hill, ON) was victorious yet again this Sunday but the competition was close behind. Hwang shot a round of 39 (+1) but only two strokes behind was Jeremiah Walker (Oakville, ON) who finished with a score of 41 (+3) in his first tournament of the 2015 season. Jacob Spurr continued his strong season finishing in third place with a 47 222(+9).

It was a great day and we thank everyone for coming out. We hope to see you all at our next CJGA Linkster event on June 21st at Turnberry Golf Club.
