Richmond Hill, ON (June 11, 2015)- This weekend the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) Junior Series makes its way to National Pines Golf Club in Innisfil, ON, where golfers will battle for multiple tournament exemptions. On the line will be spots in the CJGA Ping Canadian Junior Match Play Championship, CJGA Mizuno National Junior Golf Championship, AJGA/CJGA Junior Championship, and spots on Team East for the US Kids Teen World Championship.
The course, which opens with a front-nine meadowlands layout, transforms its personality as it routes through the thick stands of pines on the back nine. On most holes, strategic decisions need to be made off the tee, offering the choice of a demanding high risk-high reward drive (including nine forced carries) or a more conservative line. National Pines Golf Club also requires players to think their way through the course in order strategically position approach shots into the undulating greens.
On Saturday morning, juniors will be treated to a clinic hosted by sports psychologist Trista Hill. Trista is certified as a Sport Psychology Consultant with the Canadian Sport Psychology Association. She has worked with athletes across various sports and levels of competition. Trista will be speaking to golfers about the importance of the mental game towards their overall golf games.
The weather forecast calls for sunny skies and warm temperatures on Saturday. For Sunday there will be some cloud cover with a chance of shower.
