Richmond Hill, ON (May 30, 2015) It was a cold and rainy weekend at Maples of Ballantrae in Stouffville, Ontario this weekend. CJGA’s Linksters stuck it out and fought against heavy rain and fast winds to earn spots in this years US Kids Golf World Championship. Daniel Li, Jordan Hwang, Andre Zhu, Raesa Sheikh and Angela Wang all succeeded through the tough conditions to win in each of their individual divisions.

Boys 8 & Under

Jordan Hwang

Jordan Hwang took the division by storm this weekend. Hwang shot a 34(-2) through harsh conditions outshooting his divisions by 10 strokes. Hwang proved this weekend that he is a potential candidate to play in the US Kids Golf World Championships later this summer.

Girls 9 & Under

Angela Wang

Angela Wang took the Girls 9 and under division yesterday with a score of 50(+14). Angela won her first tournament of the season this weekend and she’s hoping for many more to come. Keep an eye on her in the upcoming event at Greenhills this weekend and she looks to win back-to-back tournaments.

 

Boys 9-10

Andre ZhuAndre Zhu Continued his winning ways this weekend as he captured his 2nd win of the season and 4th top 5 finish of the season. Zhu has been dominating the field this year with 4 great outings at CJGA events this year. Make sure to keep an eye on this young talent as he looks to continue his dominance in the field this season.

Girls 10-13

Raesa SheikhThe girls 10-13 were shortened due to weather conditions this weekend. Limited to playing only 9 holes this weekend the girl performed well. Raesa Sheikh of Markham, Ontario won the division with a score of 40(+3). Elaine Giantsopoulos of Richmond Hill, Ontario continues with her strong finishes as she continues with strong top 5 finishes this season.

 

Boys 11-13

Daniel Li

Rain didn’t slow down the boys 11-13 division this weekend, as it came to a long dramatic finish. Daniel Li of Toronto, Ontario and Carlito Reyes of Markham, Ontario battled it out across 5 playoff holes. With Li winning the playoff in the 5th playoff. Both Li and Reyes both shot a 78(+5) in the single round.
