INNISFIL, ON (August 18, 2008) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) hosted the opening round of the Mizuno CJGA National Golf Championship presented by HSBC today, at National Pines Golf Club. The event, considered to be the national stroke play championship for the CJGA, will consist of four rounds of play including a cut after the second day.
PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD (August 15, 2008) – Despite taking 5 ½ of a possible 10 points in singles, CJGA Team Canada could not overcome a 5 point deficit at the 4th annual Stephen Ames Cup on Friday at St. Andrew’s Golf Club. Team Trinidad & Tobago emerged victorious by a final score of 12 ½ to 7 ½.
MARKHAM, ON (August 15, 2008) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) will be hosting its anual Junior Linkster Championship at Annandale Golf Course in Ajax, Ont. from August 18th-20th, 2008. This event will gather the CJGA’s top Junior Linkster golfers and will be held over a three day period. The first day will consist of drive, chip and putt skills competitions, followed by two days of stroke play competition.
PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD (August 14, 2008) – Though CJGA Team Canada fared better on Thursday at the Stephen Ames Cup in Port of Spain, Trinidad, the team still trails by six points heading into tomorrow’s final round singles matches. Team Trinidad & Tobago earned 3 out of a possible 5 points during today’s foursome (alternate shot) matches to increase its lead at St. Andrew’s Golf Club to 8-2.
