MARKHAM, ON (March 9, 2010) The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) is pleased to announce a three year partnership with Nevada Bob’s Golf as an Official Partner of the CJGA.
Nevada Bob’s Golf, a corporate banner of the Forzani Group Ltd., will become an Official Sponsor of the Clinics for Kids Program as well as the Official Sports Retailer of the CJGA. The new partnership will see the expansion of the Clinics for Kids Program, a program that will be offered on a national scale. The clinics will take place at every CJGA Junior Linkster and Junior Tour event across Canada, a number that exceeds 80 events in 2010. The clinics will be free of charge to all junior aged golfers covering all facets of the game and introducing the game to juniors across Canada.

Surrey, B.C. (March 9, 2010) – Cold, wet, and windy conditions greeted junior golfers in British Columbia at the Canadian Junior Golf Association’s (CJGA) season opening North America Cup Qualifier at Northview Golf & Country Club. Despite the elements, there was terrific play from a number of juniors, especially 14 year old Kevin Kwon of Pitt Meadows, BC., who shot a two day total of 2-under par (142) to capture his first Boys 15-19 Divisional title.

(March 6, 2010) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) opens its 18th season on Monday, March 8 at Northview Golf & Country Club in Surrey, British Columbia with an international qualifying tournament. The CJGA North America Cup Qualifier will feature a strong field of the region’s top junior golfers.

Lexus has been devoted to the game of golf over the past three years, and shares the CJGA’s vision of providing on-going learning opportunities in the name of advancing the game. With Lexus’ continued support, junior golfers will continue to experience the popular Lexus Skills Competitions at every event across Canada on both the Junior Linkster and Junior Tour. Support will also be provided at the community level, with many of the 32 Lexus dealers across the country providing on-site event support.

Crofton Harvey passed away in Florida on Saturday, February 20, 2010 after a long illness. Beloved husband of Faith for 54 years; loving father of Susan (Harvey) Schijns and Cam Harvey; dear Papa to Cassandra, Catriona, and Campbell Harvey II and Timothy, Rebecca and Evan Schijns; and father-in-law to Susie Harvey and Stephen Schijns.

Bela Bela, Limpopo, South Africa (January 14, 2010) The script went according to plan for the host South Africa Junior Golf Federation, just as is had the previous three Tri Nations Cup. The host nation had a strong final round to capture the Tri Nations Cup played at Zebula Golf Resort & Spa in South Africa, the third consecutive time they have come back in the final round to capture the tournament.

Bela Bela, Limpopo, South Africa (January 13, 2010) The English Golf Union held on to their slim lead over host nation South Africa at the Tri Nations Cup following the second round of play at Zebula Golf Resort & Spa in South Africa. The English and South African squads picked up 8 points apiece in the second round foursome matches, while CJGA Team Canada picked up two points.

Bela Bela, Limpopo, South Africa (January 12, 2010) The English Golf Union jumped out to an early lead at the Tri Nations Cup following first round action at Zebula Golf Resort & Spa in South Africa, collecting a total of17 points on the day. Host nation South Africa is right on their heels after collecting 15 points, while CJGA Team Canada was slow out of the gate, picking up only 4 points in the opening round.

Markham, ON (January 5, 2010) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) and six junior golfers are getting set to travel to South Africa for the Tri Nations Cup this week. The three day match play competition will have CJGA Team Canada compete against the host South African Junior Golf Foundation and the English Golf Union at the beautiful Zebula Golf Estate & Spa in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The tournament will take place from January 12th – 14th.
